Leo Yang, a senior at Mission San Jose High School, is TCV’s athlete of the month due to his outstanding performance as captain of the wrestling team. Yang has been wrestling for Mission throughout high school, and has been a standout wrestler and leader. He has had an exceptional season this year as he placed second in both the Newark-Ironman Tournament and the Headsburg Dual Meet Tournament.
The 2010-11 James Logan Lady Colts are a basketball team that is well known for the depth of their roster. Head coach Frank Borghi has assembled a vast amount of starting lineups but there’s always been one constant, and that’s senior Chelsea Salom. The senior has been a staple on Logan’s varsity team for the last three seasons and is part of a nucleus that helped the Lady Colts reach this year’s NCS semifinals. On top of being named to the All Mission Valley Athletic League (MVAL) team, Salom is being honored as this month’s Tri-City Voice Female Athlete of the Month. ... |
