On Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 12:29 p.m., the Milpitas Police Department received a report of a vehicle into a single family residential structure in the 2000 block of Calaveras Road. When police officers arrived, they found two vehicles had been involved in a collision at the intersection of Calaveras Road and Piedmont Road One vehicle collided into the front wall of a house. Occupants of the house were home at the time of the collision; no one inside the house was injured.
Auto burglary suspect arrested
Two persons in the vehicles complained of pain. One was transported by paramedics to a local hospital and one refused further medical treatment at the scene. ... Full story
On August 17, 2012, Milpitas police officers responded to the 1200 block of Starlite Drive for a report of a vehicle burglary in progress. The reporting party indicated two suspects were stealing items from a vehicle parked in the area. Officers responded, and arrived on scene in less than two and a half minutes and arrested one of the suspects after a short foot pursuit. He was identified as Edgardo Sanchez of Alviso. The suspect had taken a cellular telephone from the vehicle. The other suspect fled the area on a bicycle and was not located. ...

Burglaries continue to be a problem facing many communities and law enforcement agencies in the Bay Area. Unfortunately, Fremont is no exception.
