Vehicle collision results in major home damage

On Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 12:29 p.m., the Milpitas Police Department received a report of a vehicle into a single family residential structure in the 2000 block of Calaveras Road. When police officers arrived, they found two vehicles had been involved in a collision at the intersection of Calaveras Road and Piedmont Road One vehicle collided into the front wall of a house. Occupants of the house were home at the time of the collision; no one inside the house was injured.
Two persons in the vehicles complained of pain. One was transported by paramedics to a local hospital and one refused further medical treatment at the scene. The home suffered major structural damage to the north wall. City of Milpitas Building Inspector responded and determined the house was uninhabitable due to the damage. The residents are currently staying with friends in the area. The collision is under investigation at this time.
