Great Activities...Great Fun
By Miriam G. Mazliach
Over the past months, FUSS (Fremont United Student Store) has been extremely busy creating events and projects, to benefit the school district. FUSS is a nonprofit organization established for the sole purpose of raising money for Fremont Unified School District (FUSD).
Several months back the organization presented a talent show showcasing local students and sold DVD copies of the performance as well as a musical CD and greeting cards created by other talented Fremont students. During this current time of budgetary uncertainty for schools, FUSS is trying to fill in the gaps with needed funds.
Here are three upcoming activities planned by FUSS which the group hopes the community will support:
FUSS Fashion Show:
The goal is to have about 1,000 local residents purchase tickets to “Education in Fashion.” Two shows will be held on March 2, a matinee from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and an evening show from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Local students will be featured as the models and performers. Proceeds from the shows benefit the Art and Drama programs at FUSD high schools.
The event will be held at Mission San Jose High School, in room C120, 41717 Palm Avenue, Fremont and the cost is $10 per person. To order tickets, visit www.fuss4schools.org
Additionally, anyone interested in placing an ad or donating a raffle prize should also visit www.fuss4schools.org
