California State University receives Innovative Technology Award

The California State University (CSU) received the Best Practice Award for the Innovative Use of Technology for CalStateTEACH from the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) at the organizationÕs annual meeting in Indianapolis March 1st. The prestigious national award honors the programÕs success in bridging the theory and practice of educator preparation through the use of technology.

ÒThrough CalStateTEACHÕs visionary leadership and talented and engaged faculty, the program serves as a national model that has already prepared over 3,000 highly qualified teachers for tomorrowÕs schools.Ó
CalStateTEACH utilizes online technology to prepare teacher candidates for the Preliminary Multiple Subject Credential, which qualifies them to teach in CaliforniaÕs K-8 general education classrooms. The online platform makes earning a teaching credential more accessible to those in underserved areas of California.
