Santa Clara County AssessorÕs Office meets state standards

Submitted By Brian Miller

The Board of Equalization (BOE) released a report on March 21 stating that most properties in Santa Clara County are properly assessed and the overall quality of the assessment roll, representing approximately $299.1 billion in value, meets state standards, announced Betty T. Yee, First District Member of the BOE.

ÒI congratulate Assessor Stone on his accomplishments and the professionalism of his staff in improving customer service and performance outcomes, particularly with the effective use of new technologies,Ó said Yee.

These reports provide an overview of how well the assessorsÕ duties are performed in CaliforniaÕs 58 counties, and identify where improvements should be made. Every assessor is required to identify and assess all properties located within the county Ð unless specifically exempt Ð and maintain a database or ÒrollÓ of the properties and their assessed values.
