Consumers warned of CJ Foodville cookies
Submitted By Anita Gore
On March 20, Dr. Ron Chapman, director of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and state health officer, warned consumers with wheat allergies not to eat three varieties of CJ Foodville USA, Inc. cookies:
Authentic Bakery Tous les Jours Madeleine;
Authentic Bakery Tous les Jours Chocolate Madeleine;
CJ Foodville USA, Inc. of Los Angeles, California, is voluntarily recalling all three because they contain wheat that is not declared on the product labels. The recall was initiated after CDPH identified the labeling omission during a routine inspection of the facility. No illnesses have been reported at this time.
Consumers who have experienced an allergic reaction after consuming any of these products should contact their health care provider. Anyone observing the products being offered for sale is encouraged to call CDPHÕs toll free complaint line at (800) 495-3232.
