Watercourse Protection workshop

Submitted By Guy Ashley

The Castro Valley Municipal Advisory Council will be conducting a 2nd workshop regarding the proposed revisions to the Watercourse Protection Ordinance on Monday March 24. The workshop will begin immediately after the conclusion of the regularly scheduled Municipal Advisory Council meeting.

For background, the Alameda County Board of Supervisors appointed a Watercourse Task force to identify and address the communityÕs concerns regarding development projects that had the potential to degrade the quality of creeks and their riparian corridors. The Task Force presented their Final Report of Recommendations for Proposed Revisions of the Alameda County Watercourse Protection Ordinance, to the Board of Supervisors Transportation and Planning Committee. The Public Works and Community Development Agencies prepared a proposed watercourse protection ordinance revision based on these recommendations.
