As part of a three year accreditation process, a team of out-of-state assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) will make a visit to the Hayward Police Department in December. The assessment aims to provide an outside examination into the agencyÕs policies, procedures, operations and administration and ultimately, assess whether the Hayward Police Department complies with CALEAÕs internationally-recognized law enforcement standards. The assessors will review written materials, interview employees, and ride along with police officers during their visit to the Hayward Police Department.

As part of the assessment process, agency personnel members of the community are invited to offer comments to the assessors by:
