Shooting in San Leandro

Submitted By Lt. Robert McManus, San Leandro PD

On Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 3:15pm, San Leandro Police Officers responded to Costco, located at 1900 Davis St., after a shooting occurred in the parking lot, near the Costco gas station, towards the rear of the warehouse. Upon the arrival of the officers, they discovered that both the suspect(s) and victim(s) had fled the scene. Neither the suspect(s) nor the victim(s) have been identified.

Police officers located evidence at the scene, including an unoccupied vehicle that had been struck by one of the gunshots fired. They determined that this vehicle did not belong to either the suspect(s) or the victim(s). The motive for the shooting has not been determined.

Police officers interviewed witnesses and attempted to locate video surveillance footage of the shooting, hoping to develop investigative leads that will identify the suspect(s) and victim(s). During the investigation, officers learned that a vehicle belonging to the victim(s) may have also been struck by a bullet. This vehicle was described as a light-colored sedan that was white or silver in color.
