Residential burglar arrested

Submitted By Sgt. Abbie Serrano, Milpitas PD

On April 7, 2013, at 2:10 P.M., an astute community member contacted the Milpitas Police Department to report a suspicious person jumping the fence into the backyard of a nearby home. Officers arrived within three minutes of the call and immediately set up a perimeter around the residence.

The suspect, Milpitas resident Floyd Packer, was confronted by Milpitas officers as he attempted to jump over a fence of the home and runaway on foot. Officers chased Packer and eventually arrested him on Berryessa St. He was in possession of stolen property taken from the victim's home.

Packer was booked into jail for residential burglary, possession of stolen property, prowling, and resisting arrest.
