December 25, 2012 > Concert a successful fundraiser for Sankara Concert a successful fundraiser for Sankara Submitted By Brajesh Upadhyay Sankara Eye Foundation, located in Milpitas, is proud to have hosted the event as a fundraiser to build a new hospital in Uttar Pradesh in northern India. The evening was successful in raising over $200,000, which will go towards building a new hospital building, expanding/improving some existing eye care centers, and providing free eye care to the rural poor. Nigam himself made a large donation to sponsor rooms in the new hospital. He talked highly about Sankara as an organization dedicated to the noble cause, and felt that he was part of the movement through his music. He also appreciated the impeccable efforts of the Sankara team in pulling off such a large event smoothly.
