Residential burglar arrested
Submitted By Lt. Daryl Sequeira, Milpitas PD
On August 29th, 2012, the Milpitas Police Department responded to a burglary in progress on the 1200 block of Daniel Court. At approximately 8:03 a.m. an alert neighbor called to report a suspicious circumstance when he heard the glass to his neighbor's rear patio window being broken. An officer arrived within two minutes of being dispatched to the area and began setting up a perimeter around the residence. After several announcements, a police canine was deployed into the building and cleared the residence except for a bedroom door, which had been barricaded. Officers were able to force their way into the bedroom and encountered a suspect hiding inside the master bathroom. The suspect attempted to obstruct the door but was eventually taken into custody.
The suspect was identified as Joshua Jacquez who is a transient. Jacquez was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of burglary and resisting arrest.
