Lots2Give video contest kicks off

Hayward Unified Child Development Programs and Eldridge Elementary School in Hayward are among a group of schools vying for a chance to win a share of the $120,000 prize as part of the 2012 Lots2Give contest. To enter the contest, schools submitted a 90 second video and a brief essay on why their school could use some additional financial support.
The public is being invited to view the videos submitted by the participating schools at www.biglots.com/lots2give and vote for their favorite.
One $20,000 grand prize, two $10,000 first-place prizes, four $5,000 second-place prizes and 30 $2,000 third-place prizes will be awarded.
Voting began June 11 and ends July 8 at 11:59 p.m. (EDT). Videos can be viewed and votes cast at: www.biglots.com/lots2give Individuals can cast three votes per person, per day. Winners will be announced on August 11.
Along with the Lots2Give video contest, participating schools will be the recipients of an in-store donation program. Now through July 8, customers can donate $1 or $5 at participating Big Lots stores. One hundred percent of donations will go to participating schools.
