Back-to-school with Clipper card

Submitted By AC Transit

To make the Clipper Youth card more accessible to school students, AC Transit has extended its downtown Customer Service hours and will hold a series of neighborhood events for convenient registration for youths.

Like backpacks, notebooks and pencils, the Clipper Youth card is a necessary back-to-school item for many students because it is the only way to obtain an AC Transit 31-Day Youth pass. With the $20 pass, students are allowed an unlimited number of rides for 31 days. Otherwise, they must pay $1.05 cash fares each time they board the bus.

Besides the savings, the cards are personalized with students' photos and names. If lost or stolen, the cards are replaceable, giving both parents and students the peace of mind of not having to carry cash or fumble for exact change in order to board the bus.

To be eligible for a Clipper Youth card, applicants must be 5 to18 years of age, and offer a birth certificate or valid documents as proof.

A complete schedule of the Clipper Youth card events, including times and places is available at
