Bluefins come up short
Submitted By Jody Montgomery
In one of their toughest dual meets of the East Bay Swim League regular season with a tidal wave of competition, the Newark Bluefins came up just short of topping the Mission Valley Barracudas on Saturday, July 16, by a score of 547-500.
Despite putting up the 500 points, none of the Bluefins swimmers set any records; Tory Gerome, however, did win all four of her races. Big Tuna Awards were presented poolside Friday, July 15, with Kyle Brown, Jimmy Pan, Hayley Chitwood, Jonathon Mui and Jerry Quan taking the honors.
The Bluefins will have their final meet of the EBSL regular season on Saturday, July 23, against Southgate at Newark Memorial High School, followed by the Bluefin end of the season team party. |
