July 1, 2011 > Bluefins edged out by Sharks Bluefins edged out by Sharks Submitted By Jody Montgomery In an East Bay Swim League regular season dual meet, the Newark Bluefins were narrowly defeated, 581-462, on Saturday, June 25. Despite the loss, Newark swimmers Victoria Gerome and Jonathan Mui won all four of their events on the day. Meanwhile, the relay team of Joshua Tsai, Joey Duenas, Johan Reyes and Emmanuel Ngbemeneh beat their own record at 1:01.50. As is with every week, the Bluefin coaches made their selections for the Big Tuna awards, given to swimmers for excellent effort. Coaches Teresa and Christina selected Jacob Pearsol; Coach Rosey chose the Lacaze twins; and Coach Crosby gave it to Emanuel Nbemenah.
