Dear Veterans and Veteran Supporters
I am assisting the country of France's government on a program to honor currently living veterans who served in a combat zone in France during WWII. My name is Michael L. Emerson and I am a U.S. Marine and Desert Storm Veteran. I am a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Marine Corps League (MCL) and also a PUFL/life member of The American Legion (TAL). We are seeking help to recognize these WWII veterans with the "Legion of Honor" medal by the French government. What a veteran needs to qualify: A copy of their "military record," showing they served in a combat zone in France during WWII.
A few typed paragraphs with the following information: Name Address Phone number Military rank Medals already earned and presented to them Units served with in France during WWII When was service in France during WWII? Where was service in France during WWII? How did you serve in France during WWII? It is important to know the current medical status of the veteran to make a priority list. Please submit documentation and information via email to Michael L. Emerson (email: MLEmerson@aol.com) no later, than 30 June 2011.
