Artist honored with tree
Submitted By Andrew Van Dis
On Tuesday, June 14, the City of Hayward is planting a tree in memory of Clarice Roberts at the Meek Estate. There will be a small gathering to mark the occasion. Clarice Roberts, an active member of the Hayward community, passed away at her home in Hayward on November 30, 2009. Noted for her creativity, strong-minded advocacy and enthusiasm for the things she loved, she said of her art, "Painting enables me to express my joy in the beauty and diversity of life."
The Hayward Area Historical Society purchased one of Clarice Roberts Paintings of the Meek House to use for promotional purposes. Family, friends, fellow artists and those who knew her are invited to attend.
