Acclaimed flute orchestra, Virtuoso International Flute Ensemble (VIFE) has scheduled an appearance in Fremont to benefit Tri-City Volunteers Food Bank. Directed by Judy Lam, the orchestra will be performing a variety of Classical pieces. The concert will also provide an opportunity for donations of non-perishable food items and used clothing, as well as a suggested cash donation of $10 per person. In addition, raffle tickets for a grand prize of a one-week stay in a four or five-star resort. Tri-City Volunteers, founded in 1970, operates a food bank/thrift store, and provides groceries free of charge to families in the Tri-City area as well as clothing, furniture and lunches for the homeless. Last year, 2.5 million pounds of food was distributed to over 13,000 Tri-City residents. Volunteers with the desire to help their community are always welcome. In addition, a unique opportunity to help Tri-City Volunteers feed those in need has been created through formation of "Sandwich Squads." Any group or organization can participate by donating sandwiches or other prepared/excess food. Interested? Call (510) 793-4583 or visit www.tri-cityvolunteers.org. Tri-City Volunteers is located at 37350 Joseph Street in Fremont.
