Hayward holds Latino Recognition Awards

The Hayward Unified School District will host its 4th Annual Latino Recognition Awards Ceremony on Thursday, June 2 in the Performing Arts Center at Chabot College.
The Latino/a Recognition Award is given to all 6th grade students who have earned all fours and fives on the 2nd trimester report card and 8th and 12th grade students who have a grade point average of 3.5 or above.
One of the HUSD Board of Education goals is to increase academic excellence through rigorous standards based instruction, creating equitable and sustainable systems that promote high student achievement for all students. The annual Latino Recognition Awards Ceremony promotes academic excellence in Latino youth by honoring students who work hard and achieve at high levels.
The Hayward Unified School District has almost 12,000 Latino students attending twenty-one elementary schools, five middle schools and three high schools.
