May 27, 2011 > Scholarship banquet Scholarship banquet Each year, Kiwanis Club of Fremont solicits applications from the eight high schools in Fremont, Newark and Union City for the Turn-Around Scholarship Program. This year, scholarship applications were received from American, Irvington and Newark high schools. A dinner and awards ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 31. Scholarship winners will be present to speak of meeting the challenges of academic success and receive their awards. 2011 scholarship winners are: American High School - Roderick D. Johnson; Irvington High School - Jasmine Cancino (2005 graduate and former winner), Gary Lynch and John Ramirez; Newark Memorial High School - Dulce Cardenas (2010 graduate and former winner), Henry Hall and Amber Pigeon.
