Sawdust set to fly in Hayward
Submitted By Debra Franks
Accuride International and the Belt Sander Racing Association (BSRA) announce a special race event set for May 19 at E.B. Bradley Company on Corporate Avenue, Unit B-C, in Hayward.
Competitors will vie for trophies with souped-up and stock-belt sanders designed to roar down a 75-foot wooden track. Complete with Christmas-tree starting signals, the sawdust-and occasionally the sanders-really flies on this track, as racers aggressively compete for the fastest times. First-, second- and third-place trophies are presented, as well as a special Judge's Award.
BSRA's circuit has two more races scheduled for the West Coast at E.B. Bradley Company locations in Portland, Oregon; and Kent, Washington. Top racers from events around the country will compete in the BSRA National Championships, which will be held during the AWFS(r) Fair, in Las Vegas, Nev., on July 21.
Racers are encouraged to register right away to reserve a space in the competitions. For more information or to register for an event, visit http://www.accuride.com/BSRA.
