Tri-City Health Center awarded challenge grant
Submitted By Cristina Torres
Tri-City Health Center (TCHC) was awarded a 2:1 Challenge grant totaling up to $92,250 over a multi year period, February 2, 2011 through August 31, 2012 by the Sobrato Family Foundation. This grant will support the renovation and place costs of the Mowry Clinic site.
The first year's unconditional grant totaling $45,000 represents flexible funding supporting TCHC's general operating costs. TCHC is expected to raise and receive matching funds in the amount of $45,000 through new or increased cash donations from individuals, corporations or foundations between 2/1/11 and 12/31/11 to receive the grant's second year conditional funding totaling $47,250.
"Tri-City Health Center is grateful and acknowledges the Sobrato Family Foundation for their generous as well as visionary partnership in providing a 2:1 matching challenge grant. This is a win-win opportunity for TCHC, potential donors as well as the TCHC community to leverage monetary donations from this point forward to double the impact. That means that every dollar pledged to TCHC will turn into $2 dollars", said Jim Hudson, TCHC's associate development director.
The Sobrato Foundations challenge grant, along with the funding raised through donations will help TCHC improve clinical sites and services, resulting in overall improvements to quality health care for the community. TCHC invites all partners and the community to join in meeting this grant challenge, by pledging one-time and recurring donations at http://www.tri-cityhealth.org/contribute/main.php.
