Hayward Youth Commission offers scholarships

Hayward Youth Commission (HYA) is offering five $250 scholarships to Hayward college-bound seniors. HYA advises the Mayor and City Council of Hayward, elected boards of the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District, and Hayward Unified School District on issues that affect young people in Hayward.
In order to qualify for a scholarship, a student must: 1. Graduate Spring 2011 2. Be a Hayward resident 3. Maintain a Grade Point Average and extracurricular activities indicative of the potential for success 4. Complete two essay questions
An application and documents are required by April 15 by mail or in person to:

Winners will be notified by letter around May 10; awards will be presented at the May 24, 2011 Hayward City Council Meeting.
