In spite of poor weather, over 250 participants made the Fremont Adult School's first Career and Community Resource Fair a success. The vision and hard work demonstrated by the Fremont Chamber of Commerce staff, especially Nina Moore and K.K. Kaneshiro made this event possible. Additionally, extra-special thanks go to Fremont Adult School personnel and staff including: Angelyn Kiefer for coordinating and facilitating food and beverages; Susan Anderson, Monique Edwards, Sandy Gonzales and Yelena Zimon for being Adult School table representatives, and ESL instructor Lisa Braley and her wonderful students for braving the cold windy weather to serve as volunteer guides, helping participants find their way around the school's campus!
Over twenty-three community service, educational and employing agencies were present to share vital information and take applications. The quality of the workshops and counseling sessions that were provided was excellent. A participant commented, "This is easily the best resume counseling I've received. They told me exactly what I needed to do. Now I feel more confident about the success of my next job application."
