January 28, 2011 > Fernandez sworn in Fernandez sworn in Manny Fernandez, selected to fill a vacancy on the Union Sanitary District (USD) Board of Directors, was sworn in by Union City Councilmember Pat Gacoscos at a regular meeting of the Board January 24, 2011. In remarks following the ceremony, Fernandez noted that the District does more than collect, treat and dispose of wastewater; he said, "We are stewards of the land." USD Board meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month at USD Headquarters, 5072 Benson Road in Union City.
