Officer Dong has been with the Department for nearly 25 years as a K-9 handler, Field Training Officer, and Gang Detective in the Special Investigations Unit. An experienced veteran officer, Officer Dong strives for excellence and maximizes opportunities for success in every situation and challenge encountered. Over the past year, Officer Dong has handled a variety of cases as an officer and detective; his broad base of knowledge, diligence and hard work resulted in positive outcomes. Officer Dong is currently assigned to Patrol Services, and serves as a role model and mentor for other officers. He displays a high degree of tact and diplomacy in difficult situations, and demonstrates a high level of technical expertise. Officer Dong makes a substantial contribution to the continued operation and growth of the department in its mission to serve the community. Congratulations to Officer Dong.
