Wildlife Giving Tree
Submitted By Wendy Winsted
Join the folks at Sulpher Creek Nature Center by making this a season for the animals. Once again the Giving Tree will grace our Discovery Center with ornaments hung from every limb requesting essential items needed to continue our daily operations. Your gift can help save a baby squirrel, dozens of ducklings, or even an orphaned barn owl. Most of the needed items can be found in a local general or grocery store.
To help with our Giving Tree, take one or two of the ornaments and purchase the listed items to put under the tree. When you bring in an item, put your name on the ornament so it may be hung on our donor wall. Every gift makes a difference and helps us to better care for the over 700 sick, injured, and orphaned animals that come to Sulphur Creek each year. Examples of items being requested:
KMR Powder (12 oz. can) - For feeding baby squirrels and opossums Canned dog food - To feed coyotes, foxes, opossums Wild bird seed - To feed hundreds of baby birds Pedialyte (fruit flavor) - For feeding baby squirrels and rabbits #6 paper bags - To weigh baby animals Grocery store gift certificates - To help purchase fresh fruits and vegetables
