December 17, 2010 > Warriors win Dublin Crossroads Tournament Warriors win Dublin Crossroads Tournament Submitted by Anoush Habibi Photo courtesy of Steve Yuan Following an amazing season and taking first place during both the regular season's final tournament and the FC Fremont Director's Cup, the FC Fremont Warriors, an under-12 girls travel soccer club, represented Fremont well in the U-12 Girls Division at the Crossroads Soccer Tournament in Dublin on Saturday, Dec. 11, and Sunday, Dec. 12, by winning the title. In Group A the Warriors were facing challenging teams from Dublin, San Ramon and Newark. FC Fremont managed three shutout victories - 3-0, 5-0 and 2-0 respectively - against these tough and well-prepared opponents. On Sunday afternoon they faced Pleasanton, who had clinched first place in the opposing Group B bracket to reach the championship match. This was an exciting and exhilarating game which was being anxiously watched by the players' families, friends and other soccer enthusiasts. Twenty minutes into the first half, Sierra Hillman of the Warriors managed to score the only goal of the game, which was all that was needed for the Fremont team to take the championship title and medals home.
