Holiday grants announced

Fremont Bank Foundation, a philanthropic arm of the Bay Area's Fremont Bank, recently announced the recipients of their fifth annual holiday grant program. Each November, the Fremont Bank Foundation awards 25 nonprofit organizations with $1,000 each. The funding will help the organizations provide food and basic necessities to a greater number of individuals and families in the Bay Area.
"Fremont Bank Foundation is proud to support these worthy organizations and to help in their efforts to provide meals and important services to our neighbors," says Hattie Hyman Hughes, president of Fremont Bank Foundation. "The need is greater than ever this year, and we are happy to help make the holidays a bit brighter for families in our communities."
The following 25 agencies will each receive a $1,000 grant from the Fremont Bank Foundation: Abode Services - South and East Alameda County Axis Community Health Foundation - Pleasanton Carmel Foundation - Carmel Centerville Free Dining Room - Fremont Centro de Servicios - Union City Davis Street Family Resource Center - San Leandro Food Bank for Monterey County Groceries for Seniors - San Francisco International Orphan Relief Foundation - Brentwood Kidango, Inc. - various counties LIFE ElderCare, Inc. - Fremont Martha's Kitchen - San Jose Open Heart Kitchen - Livermore Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments - Fremont Spectrum Community Services, Inc. - Hayward St. Vincent de Paul Society of Alameda County St. Vincent de Paul Society of Contra Costa County The Salvation Army Hayward/San Leandro/Castro Valley Corps The Salvation Army Tri-Cities Corps Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center - Union City/Hayward Tri-City Free Breakfast Program - Fremont Tri-City Health Center - Fremont Tri-City Volunteers - Fremont Tri-Valley Haven - Livermore Viola Blythe Community Service Center - Newark
