December 10, 2010 > Santa at the Fire House Santa at the Fire House Submitted By Aisha Knowles, Alameda County Fire Department Take a picture with Santa on the antique fire engine, have milk and Otis Spunkmeyer cookies while getting the latest holiday fire safety information. Listen to firefighters read their favorite holiday story "A Firefighter's Night Before Christmas" and sing holiday carols The event is sponsored by Alameda County Fire Department and Alameda County Firefighters Random Acts. All proceeds will go toward creating a memorial in the City of San Leandro for beloved ACFD Firefighter Luster Knight, who passed away from cancer in 2008. Luster was instrumental in supporting many community organizations throughout San Leandro and Alameda County. Proceeds will also go toward supporting the Alameda County Firefighters Holiday Toy Drive, which helps grant holiday wishes to children and families in need in the unincorporated areas.
