Prevent holiday weight gain
Submitted By Renee Snyder, St. Rose Hospital
The holiday season is a time to celebrate with family and friends. However, plentiful food and drink means, unfortunately, weight-gain for many. According to the National Institutes of Health, holiday eating, or rather over-eating, can result in an extra pound or two every year. If this additional weight is not shed, a slight gain every year amounts to a substantial increase over a lifetime.
The festive season does not have to mean destroying waistlines or going without favorite holiday goodies.
Attend this free class, to learn more about healthy eating with a balance of food, festive activity and fun with family and friends during the holidays. Learn how to adjust favorite seasonal recipes to produce healthier dishes without destroying gaining weight. To register, call (510) 264-4044.
