This is the final week during which local Girl Scouts are selling nuts and magazines to help fund service projects and activities in the Fall and Winter and through a new program designed to help them learn goal setting, financial literacy and build confidence. Just in time for holiday entertaining and gifts, Girl Scouts will be selling tasty goods at various locations throughout northern California, so look out for Girl Scout booths. To find a nearby troop and arrange purchases, call 1-888-287-4170 ext. 235 or visit www.GirlScoutsNorCal.org.
The Fall sale includes traditional favorites plus three tasty, new products. Returning this year are Chocolate Toffee Almonds, Butter Toasted Peanuts, Salsa Mix, Mint Meltaways, Cranberry Nut Mix, Whole Cashews, Honey Roasted Peanuts, Chocolate Covered Raisins and fat-free Fruit Slice candies. Prices range between $4 and $10 and subscriptions to your favorite magazines are also available for sale.
New lines are Pop-O-Pop, a butter toffee popcorn with cranberries and cashews in a collectible tin; Dark Chocolate Pretzels; and a pre-order-only product, the Three-Pack of Honey Roasted Cashews, Spicy Peanuts and Wasabi Almonds.
"The Girl Scout Fall Product Sale helps troops earn money for the start of the year but is also an important part of the Girl Scout program because girls learn about setting and achieving goals while improving their financial literacy," said Marina Park, CEO of Girl Scouts of Northern California.
This year's Fall sale theme is Construct a Plan/Design Your Future which focuses on helping girls discover, connect, and take action while realizing their potential as leaders and as team members.
Creative Funding Opportunity (CFO) is a new online program which allows teen girls to develop a business plan and sell high quality gift products to businesses and individuals. CFO products range from $27.50 to $53 and include tax and shipping. Girls of all ages can also send Monkey Mail online to customers to advertise their sale.
All proceeds from nut and magazine sales support Girl Scouting in northern California.
