November 16, 2010 > Fresh & Easy coming to northern California Fresh & Easy coming to northern California Submitted By Candice Jacobson Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market, a subsidiary of UK retailer Tesco PLC, the world's third largest retailer after Wal-Mart and Carrefour plans to open stores in the San Francisco Bay Area served by a distribution center in the Central Valley. The company operates more than 150 stores in California, Arizona and Nevada. Fresh & Easy is currently hiring for 12 stores, including Hayward, set to open early in 2011. More than 275 employees are expected to be hired. Each store will employ 20 to 25 people, with entry-level positions starting at $10 an hour in California.
