The suspect wanted in the attempted murder of a Fremont Cop was arrested in Los Angeles on Wednesday morning, October 6. Fremont detectives believed the suspect would return to southern California. 36-year-old Alexander Diaz was wanted for running down a Fremont motorcycle officer with a stolen van. He has been arrested for the attempted murder of Officer Patrick Brower, 43, 10-year veteran with the Fremont Police Department
"We had detectives in the area and with the help of LAPD, LA Sheriffs Department, Department of Justice, California Department of Corrections and the U.S. Marshalls Office, the suspect was located leaving a home in Los Angeles. He was taken into custody without incident," said Detective Bill Veteran, Fremont PD. "The suspect is currently in custody and is facing charges of attempted murder of a police officer and vehicle theft. He will be transported back to Alameda County later in the week," he said.
