Hit and run collision
The driver of a Chevrolet truck ignored a red signal northbound on Blacow Road, hitting a 1997 Acura traveling westbound on Eggers Drive at Blacow Road. The hit and run collision happened on Thursday, September 29.
According to Detective Bill Veteran, Fremont PD, the Acura was driven by a 27-year-old Fremont resident. She had entered the intersection on a green signal when she was hit by the truck. The driver of the Chevrolet has been identified as 36-year-old Newark resident Patrick Miccoli. Miccoli, who had fled the scene, was followed by a witness. He was later found in Newark where his vehicle was also located.
"Miccoli had consumed alcohol prior to the collision, however the Police department is waiting for the toxicology report to determine the extent of his intoxication," said Detective Veteran. "Both involved parties and a passenger in the Acura were transported to the Hospital for medical treatment."
