Curling is back in season
Submitted By Mike Greenberg
To all the Bay Area curlers, the fall curling season is just around the corner, and spots are filling up fast. Here's a rundown of what the San Francisco Bay Area Curling Club has to offer.
In Fremont, curling ice will be available at during the fall season each Saturday from Sept. 18 through Dec. 11 from at 10 p.m. to midnight for practice or pick-up games. Cost is $25 per person, per session. Availability of stones or ice may be limited at times due to demand at other facilities or competitive curling playdowns. SFBACC asks that you contact Mason via e-mail at mason@bayareacurling.com if you plan to use the ice, so that he can confirm availability and get you locked in.
In San Jose there will be a league that runs Tuesdays from 9:30 to 11:30 p.m. starting Sept. 21 and going until Dec. 7. Cost to join is $250. You can register online either as a single or with a partial or full team. But you'll need to act fast, with less than five spots remaining.
And in Oakland, there will be a league that plays every Wednesday from Sept. 22 to Dec. 15 from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. (no curling on Nov. 24). Cost to join is $300.
