Flea market fundraiser
By Julie Grabowski
Shoppers and sellers get ready for a flea market adventure Saturday, September 18. Held in the parking lot behind the Masonic Lodge at Maple Street and Peralta Boulevard, those looking to lighten their loads can purchase an 8 x 10 space for a $20 set up fee. Sellers can reserve a spot in advance or show up the day of the event with fee in hand. Space is available for about 50 to 60 sellers.
Run by the Centerville Business and Community Association, the flea market is a fundraiser for the tree lighting at Centerville Depot, as well as other community activities. While this is a first time event, Billy Cripple of Available Self Storage says the association hopes they will be able to continue it every year as a means to make a little money and be able to give back to the community. "Come one, come all!" urges Cripple.
In addition to the shopping a BBQ lunch will also be available, with a hot dog, chips, and drink for $3, or substitute a hamburger for $4.
Whether you're looking to make room in your closets or shop for unique treasures, the flea market is a great opportunity to mingle with neighbors and support community efforts.
Please contact Billy Cripple for more information at (510) 790-9398 or availablestorage@att.net.
