Assistant City Manager leaves Fremont
Melissa Stevenson Dile, Fremont Assistant City Manager resigned from her position effective August 25 to assume a similar position with the City of Mountain View. In an exclusive interview with TCV, Dile said she had been involved with the application process since May and was offered the position of Assistant City Manager in late July. Her official duties with Mountain View began September 7, 2010.
Annabell Holland, Manager of Parks & Recreation has been appointed Interim Assistant City Manager. She will assume responsibility for budget strategy, labor relations and liaison with redevelopment. Fire Chief Bruce Martin will assist with development and training.
Dile said that since she lives in South San Francisco, her commute will be less difficult and Mountain View offers "a broad mix of services" including responsibility for water and sanitary facilities. These are handled by separate organizations in the Tri-City area.
"This is an opportunity for me to develop a new set of professional skills," said Dile. "Moving to Mountain View is the next step in my career." She noted that working in Fremont was a "great experience" and her departure was voluntary. Dile is a 1991 graduate of Mills College and worked for the City of Morgan Hill (1991-06) prior to accepting a position with the City of Fremont in 2006.
