Suspects arrested for possession of drugs
Three suspects were arrested for possession of a controlled substance on Thursday night, August 26. Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving (COPPS) Unit stopped a vehicle in the area of Crest Lane and Huntwood Avenue. The driver and two passengers were on probation; officers conducted a search of the vehicle. The search resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

In a similar case, Police found drug paraphernalia in the purse of an occupant of a vehicle parked on 10th Street near 'J' Street. The incident occurred on Monday night, August 30, when officers responded to the area to investigate a report of a loud domestic disturbance inside a parked vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, a woman was arrested for possession of drugs.

Suspect arrested for possession of a firearm
A loud party where gun shots had been fired was reported near Venus Place on Saturday night, August 28. Police found an intoxicated subject standing in front of an open garage in the alleyway; near him were several spent bullet casings on the ground. The subject admitted to owning a rifle, but denied shooting it. The officers searched the residence for any injured people and located the rifle. The subject is prohibited from owning a firearm and was arrested for having it in his possession.

Robbery at BART
An unidentified suspect robbed a man of his wallet on Tuesday night, August 31, outside the BART Station. According to the victim, he was walking to his home on Union Square when he saw the suspect running up to him. The suspect demanded the victim's wallet and fled on foot. The victim, fearing for his safety, complied.

Telephones stolen from Verizon store
Two suspects entered the Verizon store at the Union Landing shopping complex and began to cut the security cables off display telephones on Wednesday, September 1. They threatened the store clerk when he confronted them. One of the suspects reached for his waistband as if he had a handgun, but no weapon was displayed. The suspects then fled with several telephones. No injuries have been reported.
