Celebrate a Ramadan Iftaar
Submitted By Ahsan Baig
Islamic Society of East Bay in Fremont cordially invites everyone to an Iftaar (fast-breaking) meal at your local Mosque. To more than one billion Muslims worldwide, the month of Ramadan is a special time of the year; a time to take a step back from daily routines and focus on community, charity, fasting, and prayer. During Ramadan, Muslims abstain from food, drink, and other worldly pleasures from dawn to dusk. This Fasting is one of the five basic pillars of Islam, and serves as both a spiritual and physical cleansing of the mind and body.
Muslims focus on improving themselves as human beings, to be a better father, mother, child, and friend. They focus on the less fortunate in society by being charitable and helping those in need in any way possible. We invite the community to join us on August 28th, at 5:30 p.m. to build bridges of mutual understanding and tolerance for a better community in the Bay Area.
