The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion welcomed tens of thousands of spectators during Aug. 12-15 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey.
This year over 600 historic automobiles and entrants from around the globe converged to race just as they did back in their day. The action started with the balance of 19 different competition groups completing their qualifying. After qualifying, they segued into lunchtime parade laps, a picnic for the public with famed driver Dan Gurney, and a flyover by four Nanchang CJ-6A aircraft.
At that point, it was time for the Star Spangled Banner, which signaled the official start of competition for the final 10 scheduled groups. It was in those groups where the ever popular Trans-Am circuit of racing automobiles were featured.
