Save Fremont Students Gala

"The Save Fremont Students Gala" was a culmination of the entire fundraising campaign and a celebration of the volunteer spirit. Led by Rebecca Xing, student leaders David Cao, Eric Chin, Lilli Choung, Karen Lin, and Edward Wang planned and executed the semi-formal event. With a team made out of student waiters, a technical crew, photographers, and decorators, the event turned out to be a huge success. Parent volunteers helped the students out in a huge way, obtaining the catering and the silverware for the evening.
The doors opened at 6 p.m., and while the parents browsed through the various pieces of artwork donated from Art.com and electronics available for silent auction and raffle, the students put the final touches on the main dining hall. Indian/Asian fusion dinner, provided by Temptations in Mountain View, was buffet style, with the student waiters serving drinks and clearing finished plates. Throughout the night, various forms of entertainment-from break-dancing to singing- gave the parents a time to relax and appreciate the night and all the hard work they put into SFS.
Mayor Bob Wasserman read a proclamation, followed by speeches from prominent members of the community to cap off the night. Additionally, especially hardworking volunteers, including parent coordinators Subra Nathan, Virginia Hom, Christina Broadwin, and Monica Melville, were recognized.
SFS's hope is that everyone will remember that this is the first step in the right direction on the stairway to the future, a future for a better tomorrow. |
