A residence on Devon Place in Milpitas was burglarized and ransacked. The incident happened on Tuesday, August 3 at approximately 11:44 a.m. when a neighbor reported seeing two subjects exiting the backyard of the residence. The homeowner who returned home shortly after, saw the suspects hiding in the landscaping near her residence.
Officer Mark Doyle responded to the scene and detained Samy Joya-Arevalo approximately one-half of a mile north of Devon Place. Stolen property was discovered in Joya-Arevalo's vehicle, green 2002 Dodge Durango. The property, however, was taken from a residential burglary in San Jose earlier on the same day. His role in the residential burglary on Devon Place is still under investigation. Joya-Arevalo was booked into the Santa Clara County jail on three counts of possession of stolen property.
