Suspect arrested for stealing laptops

25-year-old Robert Pena Jr. was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for commercial burglary at Cisco Systems located at 700(B) Alder Drive in Milpitas. Employees noticed a suspicious male inside the business without a work ID badge on Wednesday, August 4 at approximately 3:44 p.m. The suspect, a Gilroy resident had several laptop computers in a backpack. At about this same time, other employees reported their laptop computers were missing from their work cubicles. Employees confronted the suspect as he exited the building with the backpack and he ran away.
Milpitas Police Officers located Pena Jr. in the 600(B) Barber Lane. Officers recovered the backpack that had been discarded as he fled from the building. Several pieces of property taken in the burglary, including the laptop computers, were located and returned to the victims. Pena Jr. was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, glass smoking pipe, and he was under the influence of a controlled substance. Pena Jr. was arrested for burglary, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
