Little League Baseball's all-star tournaments are all coming to a close, determining which club will represent the district in the sectional tournaments coming this weekend, Saturday, July 17, through Thursday, July 22.

In District 14, which amasses all the Fremont and Newark little leagues, the Junior division was captured by Niles-Centerville Little League on Monday, July 12, when they topped Centerville American Little League, 9-6, in the winner-take-all match.

Also in D14, but in the Majors division, Mission San Jose Little League survived its elimination semifinal match-up with Newark National Little League, winning by a count of 9-3. Next up for MSJLL was the championship on Wednesday, July 14, against Niles-Centerville Little League, with the do-or-die match on July 15 if MSJ won.

Meanwhile in the Minors of D14, Newark American Little League no. 1 team won its 9- and 10-year olds tournament, beating Centerville American Little League, 5-3, on Monday, July 12. And in the 10- and 11-year-old tournament in the Minors division of D14, Mission San Jose Little League forced the winner-take-all game on Wednesday, July 14, by beating Newark American Little League, 6-5, on Tuesday, July 13.

In the District 59 tournaments, which feature Milpitas little leagues, in the Seniors division, Milpitas National Little League staved off elimination by beating Spartan Little League, 9-3, on Monday, July 12. MNLL went onto face North Valley Little League for the championship on Wednesday, July 14, needing to beat them twice -- with the what-if game coming on Thursday, July 15.

Meanwhile in District 45 action, covering Union City and Hayward locally, Mt. Eden Little League Juniors won its tournament by ousting Union City National Little League, 14-1, on Tuesday, July 13. Union City National got there by winning its elimination game with San Lorenzo American, 10-3, on Monday, July 12. Mt. Eden's Majors team, however, was eliminated by San Lorenzo American on Monday, July 12, by a score of 15-2.
