Action-packed Family Feud features Newark family

Submitted By Courtney Smith

Think of it as "Feud 2.0" if you like, because the new season of this family game show is bursting with big changes, and the McDonald Family of Newark, CA is going to be part of the action. The McDonald Family will face off against the Kaatz Family of Minneapolis, MN, manning their buzzers beginning on Friday, July 16. The classic game airs Monday-Friday at 11 a.m. on KTVU (Channel 2).

The McDonald Family - Eileen, a travel agent who has visited all seven continents; son Kevin, a musician; daughter Megan, a flight attendant; daughter Katie, a police officer; and son-in-law Mark, a P.E. teacher who was the first couple married on home plate at the Oakland A's ballpark - will be aiming for top prize money of $150,000, plus a brand new car.

"I spent an entire summer helping Katie and her husband with their new baby," said Eileen. "Every afternoon we would watch 'The Feud' and when we saw they were having auditions we knew we had to try out. If we win, the kids all want to put money away to buy houses, and I want to contribute to the college funds for my six grandchildren."

The Feud is hosted by John O'Hurley ("Seinfeld," "Spamalot"). "The McDonald Family has been preparing for their time on the stage since the last baby in the family was born," said O'Hurley. "That could just be the good luck charm they need to help them get a big win on the show."
