Hayward Police investigate homicide

An 80-year-old woman was found dead of a shooting in her residence at 25352 Spring Drive in Hayward on Sunday, June 27 at approximately 4:56 p.m. Hayward Police have identified the victim who apparently lived alone, as Carolyn June Pavon. An autopsy was conducted on Tuesday, June 29 by the Alameda County Coroner's Bureau. Results of autopsy revealed that the victim died from gunshot wound(s).
No further details of the injuries sustained by Pavon have been released. At this time, the motive for this homicide is also unknown. Investigators are questioning witnesses, relatives and neighbors.
