Grant funds support children's concerts
Submitted By Sue Rose
Bank of America Fremont Beacon Banking Center Manager Joy Sanders presented a $5,000 grant to the Fremont Symphony Orchestra from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation on June 30. Grant funds will support the orchestra's highly regarded 37th free annual Children's Concerts in March 2011. Three thousand elementary school students from local school districts participate in the educational and engaging concerts as a weekday field trip.
As she presented the check, Ms. Sanders said. "The Bank of America is very pleased to participate in the community in this way." General Manager Susan Rose accepted the check, commenting, "It publically demonstrates your support of arts education to the community."
Fremont Symphony Board Co-President Board Steve Cho was also present, stating, "This is the third year that Bank of America has funded our Children's Concerts for busloads of cheering, clapping students. The show will go on in both Fremont and Milpitas in 2011 because of this generous grant."
